Berkshire Barns is offering a very rare opportunity: An original 18th century Colonial Saltbox house just became available to us. This beautiful structure is on property that is being developed and subdivided, so we are going in to save the house frame from demolition. This original English Colonial Saltbox house was built between 1760 and 1780 and features hand hewed gunstock posts of Chestnut and Beech. Original lathe-n-plaster and wallpaper still exists on the second floor. Some photos are available here along with sketches of the 1st and 2nd story floor plans. Personal tours of the house can be scheduled while it is still standing.
